Automotive Photography Pricing

If you're searching for a professional automotive photographer in Perth, one of your first questions is probably "how much is this going to cost?" The honest answer is that it depends on what you need the images to do.

A dealership photographing a full stock lineup has different needs from a PPF or modification shop showcasing a finished install, or a car owner who wants a hero shot of their build. Pricing changes with the scope of the shoot, the location, the number of vehicles, the editing, and how you plan to use the final images, whether that's your website, Instagram, ads or print.

This guide covers what professional car photography costs in Perth, what's included at each level, and what to look for when comparing photographers. Whether you're after dealership photography, content for your workshop, or a standout shoot for your own car, you'll know what to budget for and how to get the best return on it.

Standard Package: quoted at $300

Best for: a quick refresh of your inventory or a single feature vehicle.

The Standard package is one location and one shoot, with a choice of photos or video. It's the simplest way to get professional content without committing to a larger campaign.

What's included:

  • 1 location, 1 shoot

  • 20-30 professionally edited photos or 1-2 cinematic reels

  • Full access to your edited files

You get clean detail shots and standout angles that are ready for social media and your website. It suits a dealership showing off a new arrival, a PPF or modification shop wanting a finished job documented properly, or a car owner who wants a strong set of images of their build.

Advanced Package: quoted at $600

Best for: dealerships and workshops that want a broader content library in one session.

The Advanced package covers two locations with both photo and video coverage. You get a mix of static and motion content across different settings or vehicles, so you're not stuck with one look.

What's included:

  • 2 locations

  • Photo and video coverage

  • 30-40 professionally edited photos (static shots and rollers)

  • 2 cinematic reels

This package suits a dealership refreshing its feature vehicles, or a PPF or modification shop showing off a finished build both on location and in motion. The rolling shots and reels are ready for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, your website and your Google Business profile.

Premium Package: quoted at $1,000

Best for: dealerships and brands running multi-platform campaigns.

The Premium package is built for maximum coverage. It spans three locations and multiple vehicles or angles, and gives you enough content for a full month or campaign.

What's included:

  • 3 locations

  • Photo and video coverage, plus a secondary shooter/assistant for the day

  • 30-50 edited photos

  • 2-3 cinematic reels

The second crew member means more shots, faster turnarounds on set, and more variety across vehicles and locations. It's a good fit if you're launching new stock, promoting a service, or filling a month of social content in one session.

Which Perth Car Photography Package Is Right for You?

  • Choose Advanced ($600) if you want a strong, varied content library from one shoot without a large campaign.

  • Choose Premium ($1,000) if you're running a campaign, covering multiple vehicles, or need content across several platforms for the month.

Both packages are quoted at the prices above and include full access to your edited files. If your project falls somewhere in between, get in touch and I'll tailor a quote to fit.

What Affects the Price of Car Photography in Perth?

Pre-Planning and Location Finding

A great car photo starts well before the camera comes out. Scouting locations, checking the light at different times of day, confirming access and planning shot lists all take time. A clean alley, a rooftop car park or a coastal road can lift the final images, but finding the right spot (and having a backup) is real work. This is why packages with more locations, like Advanced and Premium, cost more. Each extra location means more planning, more set-up and more time on the day.

Ayani Car Collective Shoot

This photo was taken for Ayani Car Collective, one of Perth’s biggest car communities and the locations was especially handpicked for this BMW M4 as it would stand out in this location due to the colour of the car

Gear and Equipment

Professional automotive photography and video need more than a camera. Quality lenses, lighting, stabilisation for rolling shots and cinematic reels, and sometimes drones or specialist rigs all add up. Shoots with video, rolling footage or a secondary shooter need more equipment on site. That's why the Premium package includes an assistant for the day.

Photographer Experience

You're paying for judgement as well as gear. An experienced automotive photographer knows how to handle reflections on paint, which angles suit which vehicle, how to direct a rolling shot safely, and how to deliver content that works for sales and social media. Cheaper options can look fine at first glance, but consistency, reliability and polished results are what make the images actually generate enquiries.

Editing and Post-Production Time

Shooting is only part of the job. Culling, colour grading, retouching and cutting cinematic reels often take longer than the shoot itself. The number of photos, the number of videos and the level of retouching all affect editing time. A 20-30 photo set is a very different workload from 50 edited photos plus three reels, and the price reflects that.

Travel Fees

Most Perth metro shoots are straightforward, but travel can affect the quote. Locations far from the city, multiple sites spread across the metro area, or regional jobs add time and fuel costs. If your vehicles are at more than one site, such as multiple dealership yards, mention it when you enquire so travel can be built into the quote from the start. For any locations within 15km to the creator or photographer then there will be no charge for a travel free however once the travels exceed over 15km then it is a policy stated by contract that there will be fees of $1.50/km they need to travel

Other Things That Can Change Your Quote

  • Number of vehicles: more cars mean more set-up, positioning and editing.

  • Usage: content for social media is different from content for large print or paid advertising campaigns.

  • Turnaround time: rush delivery can affect pricing.

  • Special requests: light painting, drone footage or specific shot ideas can add to the scope.
